Integrated Catalysis (iCAT) CDT

Researcher picking up test tube from machine

Research

Research in the Integrated Catalysis CDT is based on the integration of biocatalytic and chemocatalytic processes.

Collaboration

Research conducted within iCAT will see us collaborating closely with the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology and the Centre of Excellence for Biocatalysis, Biotransformation and Biocatalytic Manufacture (CoEBio3).

The integration of these processes is fundamental to the future of molecule manufacture across the entire chemical industry.

iCAT addresses this emerging area with expertise in process engineering, chemical and biological catalysis, creating a unique PhD training opportunity that connects these disciplines in a transformative way.

Working with interdisciplinary researchers and centres and institutes across the University, we seek to tackle society’s great challenges.
